Underground voids, which often originate from a variety of sources such as natural formations and buried infrastructure, can compromise foundation stability and increase structural and foundation settlement, especially when located beneath foundations. These holes, if they are in the area under the influence of the foundation, can significantly reduce the bearing capacity and bring significant risks and financial losses. In the past, various studies have been done to investigate the behavior of soils with one hole, but few studies have been done on soils with twin holes. In this research, the behavior of sand beds with double holes without and with geogrid was investigated using physical modeling. The effect of different factors such as soil density, hole burial ratio, hole spacing ratio, and number and spacing of geogrid layers on the behavior change of sandy soil with twin holes was studied. The particle image velocimetry (PIV) method was used to investigate the formation of the rupture wedge and the strain rate generated on the surface of the failure wedges. The results of this research showed that the increase in soil density and the increase in the number of geogrid layers play an important role in the load capacity of the system and significantly increase the soil load capacity; So that the bearing capacity of dense soil reinforced with 2 layers of geogrid has increased by 51.8% compared to dense soil without reinforcement.
