Pollution of soils containing petroleum hydrocarbons is one of the most important environmental challenges, so it is necessary to take measures to clean up hydrocarbons, including diesel, in oil-rich areas. The phrase uses the electrokinetic process. This method is effective for cleaning fine-grained soils, especially clay. In this study, the cleaning of diesel-contaminated clay by electrokinetic method in the presence of surfactants SDS and Tween 20 is evaluated and the effect of pH control on catolite and anolite on the process electrokinetic modification of clay has been evaluated. The process results show that in the absence of surfactant, the electrokinetic method has a very low efficiency in cleaning diesel from clay. Diesel rises from the soil. Using Tween 20, the lowest purification rate was obtained at a concentration of 0.05% equal to 18%, while SDS was able to remove about 49% of diesel at a concentration of 0.15% of surfactant. Uniaxial to determine the unrestricted compressive strength of the soil sample has been done, which shows that the clearing process increases the compressive strength of the soil.
