Improving the behavior of different soils with the additives is one of the most important issues for researchers in geotechnical engineering. Conventional additives such as cement, lime, fly ash, bitumen, etc. have been studied in previous studies, and nanomaterials and polymers that have unique properties and their use in other branches of engineering has led to fundamental changes in geotechnical engineering. Have received less attention. Due to the lack of sufficient laboratory studies and real data on the effect of nanoparticles and polymers on soil properties, this dissertation investigates the effect of polypropylene and nanosilica additives on the reinforcing properties of clay.
One-step creep experiments were performed on soil stabilized with nanosilica and polypropylene at percentages of 0.25, 0.5, 1 and 2% and at stresses of 25, 50, 100, 200, 400 and 800 kPa and the results obtained in terms of time- porosity ratio was plotted to show that the behavior of soft clay is influenced by the percentage of nanosilica and polypropylene fibers; As the amount of these materials increases to a certain amount, the sample becomes denser and the amount of settling decreases.
