The rivers entering the enclosed seas due to of through various passing urban and industrial areas contain a large volume of pollution and lead to changes in the quality of the estuary and sea water. According to the aquatic environments are considered by many environmental organizations and institutions, quality monitoring is very important. Because of the time and cost savings and the expanse of the covered area, remote sensing can be a suitable method for such monitoring. In this research the qualitative parameters of temperature, salinity and pH in the estuary of Chalous river as one of the major rivers of south coast of the Caspian Sea were investigated using Landsat8 and Sentinel2 multispectral images and compared with field measurements. Field sampling was done in cold season and after taking satellite images, the relationship between this data and remote sensing data was investigated using regression relationships. The results showed that there is a good correlation between measured water quality parameters and qualitative parameters obtained from satellite imagery. The comparison between two satellites, Landsat8 and Sentinel2, shows that the temperature parameters (R2 = 0.697), salinity (R2 = 0.689) and pH (R2 = 0.855) have better correlation with Sentinel2 satellite.
