A few researchers including Seiler et al. (2002) and Du et al. (2012) using monthly data showed SPI2, SPI12, and SPI24 have the potential to forecast floods occurrence.  The present research aimed at using SPI for flood occurrence forecasting. The results of the study are important from two points of view: first, the applied model uses just one parameter that imposes less uncertainty through decreasing errors in preparing and introducing data to the model, and second, the model uses the most common available data with  acceptable length everywhere; i.e. precipitation. While in drought analysis monthly scale is common, in this research the SPI was used in daily scale to fit the purpose of the study. For the case study, two different watersheds were selected; one in a humid area (Kasilian watershed in the north of Iran) and the other in a semi dry region with a river of rainfall-snowy hydrologic regime (Kailak Darahsi watershed in the north-west of Iran).}, keywords = {Flood forecasting,SPI,Daily scale,Humid region,Rainfall-Snow regime}, title_fa = {پیش‌بینی سیل با استفاده از شاخص بارش استاندارد (SPI) در مقیاس روزانه}, abstract_fa = {یافتن روشی که بتواند در عین سادگی از دقت کافی در پیشبینی سیلاب برخوردار باشد از چالش‌های همیشگی محققین بخصوص در کشورهای در حال توسعه بوده است. در این تحقیق برای اولین بار به بررسی توانایی روش شناخته شده شاخص بارش استاندارد شده (SPI)، که استفاده از مقیاس‌های بلند مدت آن برای مطالعات خشکسالی مرسوم است، برای پیشبینی سیل در مقیاس روزانه پرداخته شده است. برای این تحقیق از دو حوضه مطالعاتی، کسیلیان در منطقه‌ای مرطوب با رژیم بارانی و کهیلک دره‌سی در حوضه آبریز صوفیچای در منطقه‌ای نیمه خشک با رژیم برفی- بارانی استفاده شد. نتایج حاصل از به کار بردن SPI در مقیاسهای 3، 6، 9 و 12 روزه برای پایش و پیشبینی سیل نشان داد که این شاخص در مقیاسهای مختلف روزانه در پیشبینی و پایش سیل در هر دو حوضه آبریز کسیلیان و کهیلک دره‌سی موفق بوده است. با استفاده از شاخص‌های احتمال تشخیص (POD)، هشدار غلط (FAR) و موقعیت بحرانی (CSR) بهترین نتیجه برای حوضه کسیلیان با SPI6 و برای حوضه کهیلک دره‌سی برای زمانهای بارانی با SPI3 و برای دوره‌های برفی با SPI9 بلندمدت‌تر از آن به دست آمد.}, keywords_fa = {پیش‌بینی سیل,SPI,مقیاس روزانه,مناطق مرطوب,رژیم برفی بارانی}, url = {https://ceej.tabrizu.ac.ir/article_7909.html}, eprint = {https://ceej.tabrizu.ac.ir/article_7909_c831eb414cd5be302f405355af9a9038.pdf} }
